China assures Bangladesh of support from resolving Rohingya crisis to expanding trade
China has expressed its interest in increasing cooperation in trade, investment, technology and infrastructure development to further accelerate Bangladesh’s development. At the same time, the country has assured Bangladesh of its support for a peaceful resolution of the Rohingya crisis.
In this context, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has emphasized on further strengthening relations with China for the benefit of Bangladesh.
The Minister of Local Government delivered the keynote address at a discussion titled ‘Long Live Bangladesh-China Friendship’ organized by the Bangladesh-China Friendship Association at the Padma Hall of Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Saturday (July 18).

The Local Government Minister said that the relations between Bangladesh and China are historical and have become deeper and more multidimensional over time.
After independence, relations between the two countries gained a solid foundation during the reign of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Later, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s visit to China played an important role in further advancing these relations.
